About

I love taking pictures, though I don’t really consider myself a photographer. Maybe someday I’ll know enough about apertures and focal lengths to call myself that.

I’ve got several cameras, but the one that I use the most, by far, is my iPhone’s camera. Some might scoff at the poor quality that you get from the small lens and relatively low resolution, but working with such a basic tool can be liberating.

Do you know that your iPhone can capture and create amazing pictures? Even works of art?

What really makes the iPhone (and hopefully some other smart phones like Droid, Google N1, etc.) shine is that they are computers with an operating system and perpetual high-speed Internet connections. Innovative software developers create applications enabling us to do amazing things with the moments that we capture with our basic cameras.

This blog is about getting the most out of the camera that you always have with you, always capturing the moment, turning good pictures into art with the help of apps, and sharing them with the world all while the moment is happening.

You can’t do that with your fancy DSLR. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

  • What is your camera good at? What is it bad at? How can you get the best shot knowing its limitations?
  • How can you be ready to take a shot as quickly as possible?
  • What’s the best effect to apply to a picture?
  • What are the special camera apps that you can use, and when should you use them?
  • What’s the best way to share your pictures with your friends on Twitter, Flickr, Friendfeed, and your blog?

If you’re like me, you’re dying to know the answers to these questions. This is where we’re going.
